Thomas Alva
Edison is a scientist. He is born February 11, 1847 in Milan, Ohio USA. His
father is Samuel Ogden Edison Jr. (1804- 1871) and his mother is Mancy Matthews
Elliott (1810- 1871). When Thomas child, he always got the ugly value. Thomas
is also told “idiot” by teachers in his school. He is released from his school
because he too much enquiring, and according to all teachers, it is unlogical
question. But, they didn’t realized that it is showing that he is genius man.
So that question which he throw abysmal of age boundary and the epoch that
moment. Because he released from school, he is confined in room by his parents.
He is not sorrowful, because at home he got more time to read the adult erudite’s
book and start to various erudite attempt byself.
Thomas remained tried to continued his
education. But forthwith, he must to search money for pay his education. When
he 12 years old, Thomas engage in as newspaper seller, and various job type which
cleanse the energy. Then, he become the telegraph operator, he moved from one
town to other town. In New York, he is asked to become the important telegraph
machine head. In the year 1870, he found the better telegraph machine. Money
that yielded from its invention last for founding company byself.
On December 25, 1871 Thomas Alva Edison
married with Mary Stilwell (1855- 1884). From his wedding, he got three
children. There are Marion Estelle Edison (1873- 1965), Thomas Alva Edison Jr.
(1876- 1935) and William Leslie Edison (1878- 1937). Mary Edison died when she
29 years old on August 9, 1884 of unknown causes: possibly from a brain tumor
or a morphine overdose.
In the year 1874, he moved to Menlo Park,
New Jersey. Over there he made the first big erudite workshop in world. He also
a lot of making other important inventions. In the year 1877, Thomas found the
Gramophone. Not only that, in the year 1879, Thomas Alva Edison succeed to made
the invention which spectaculer, very useful until now that is electric light.
Then he also found the projector for the small films.
Electric
light invention, this represented the long struggle for a Edison. Although initially
failing, but he succeed at attempt which the thousandth. But Thomas always say
that he not failed, but he have succeeded to found the things which cannot
animate the electric light. In the year 1882, he install the lamps electric
light in roads and houses as far as one kilometre in town of New York. This is
first time in the world that electric light used in the roads.
On February 24, 1886 at the age of
thirty-nine, Thomas Alva Edison married again with Mina Miller (1866- 1947).
And he got three children again. There are Madeleine Edison (1888- 1979),
Charles Edison (1890- 1869) and Theodone Miller Edison (1898- 1992).
In the year 1890, he founding the
company of General Electric. Edison viewed as a one productive inventor at his
period. He hold the champion 1.093 patent right on behalf of his name. He also
a lot of assisting in the field of defender of governance USA. Some its
research, there are: Detecting plane, breaking periscope with the machine gun,
detecting submarine, discontinuing torpedo with the net, boosting up torpedo
strength, camuflase ship, and still a lot of again.
He died on October 18, 1931 in West Orange,
New Jersey USA when he 84 years old.
